Outwardly, he was similar to another famous doctor and writer, Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. However he was more attractive in a Caucasian way. Ivan Georgievich Kalamkarov was a military doctor. He was born in 1875, graduated from the Medical Faculty of Moscow University. He participated in the Russian - Japanese War and the First World War. Kalamkarov served as a junior resident in the hospital team of the Tiflis hospital, and in July 1909 he became a court counselor. When Ivan Georgievich worked at the Olginsky institute, he was engaged in private gynecological practice at home and achieved significant success in gynecology. Currently his descendants live in this house on the third floor.
